NHSAA Professional Development Program for 2024 - 2025

The NHSAA Professional Development Committee has worked hard to develop a varied agenda that builds on our traditionally strong program themes while adding new and unique professional development opportunities.

2024 New Systems Leaders Orientation - July 23, 2024 (8:00 - 11:30am) - Primex Building (46 Donovan St.), Concord, NH

The New Systems Leaders Orientation will offer an overview of the NHSAA and special services that the Association offer including EdjobsNHStudent Services Center, legal assistanceprogram consulting servicesnetworking opportunitiescommunicationslegislative advocacy, professional development eventsrecognition programsN.H funding and lawsaffiliations with other organizations, and more! Systems leadership positions can be lonely and isolating at times. These sessions are a step in building our capacity as Champions for Children and offering each of you an initial opportunity to become familiar with the resources and services available to you, engage your thoughts on personal and professional development needs, expose you to the opportunities available to you for involvement in your statewide professional association, and to help you build your professional network. We hope you can carve out some time during this transitional period to invest in YOU.

2024 Collective Bargaining Workshop - July 23, 2024 (1:00 - 3:30pm)- Primex Building (46 Donovan St.), Concord, NH

This workshop was created to offer an opportunity for system leaders to share ideas and experiences with colleagues in an open environment in preparation for collective bargaining. As a result, attendance is open only to eligible members of NHSAA and their invited guests*
*Any registrations received from non-members will need to be approved by an NHSAA member.

2024 Fall Unconference - September 24, 2024 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

2024 Bradley F. Kidder Law Conference - October 16, 2024 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

New Hampshire's top school attorneys will highlight new developments in school law on the topics of new laws, collective bargaining, privacy, use of media, school finance, personnel, special education, and more. This workshop is co-sponsored annually by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA), the New Hampshire Council of School Attorneys (NHCOSA), and the New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA).

2024 NH Way Section 504 for Student Services - October 9, 2024 - Primex Building (46 Donovan St.), Concord, NH

Learn the latest and greatest information on all things student services related. Topics include (but are not limited to):Technical Advisory, SB 179 = new law regarding seclusion (effective 8/6/2023)HB 491 = new bill clarifying restraint limitations, Section 504 , Homeless Student guidelines (required under the federal McKinney-Vento law), Roles and Responsibilities for children in the NH Foster and/or NH court system (as required by NH's Education Department and NH's Department of Health & Human Services) 

2024 NH Way for Special Education - October 22, 2024 - Primex Building (46 Donovan St.), Concord, NH

Hear from experts in the field on current issues affecting special education in NH. Topics include (but are not limited to):New Hampshire laws governing special education have provisions that are unique to our state., The NH Way Day #2 for Special Education and 504 will focus on how New Hampshire may be the same and then expand upon those IDEA and ADA requirements, and experts in those areas will provide both a historical and current perspective of these areas of student services.

2024 Best Practices Conference on School Operations, Finance, & Business Leadership - October 30 - 31, 2024 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

Our annual statewide work session sponsored by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA) and the New Hampshire Association of School Business Officials (NHASBO) includes opening and closing daily Keynotes as well as presentations on new developments in collective bargaining, state law, auditing requirements, data collection, state financing practices, school safety, lease purchases, Department of Revenue Administration, federal funding, and the sharing of successful "Best Practices." This program will feature a detailed discussion of educational funding for fiscal year 2024 and beyond, an update on state policy issues, and an opportunity to visit with exhibitors.  

2024 Best Practices Conference on Behavioral Health - November 12, 2024 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

This event will focus on  the latest research, best practices, and innovative approaches to promoting mental wellness and addressing mental health disorders. The conference will feature keynote presentations, panel discussions, and workshops focused on topics such as trauma-informed care, mindfulness-based interventions, social-emotional learning strategies and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with peers, learn from colleagues, and engage in interactive sessions designed to enhance their skills and knowledge in providing high-quality behavioral health services.

38th Annual Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference - December 4 - 5, 2024 - Nashua Sheraton

One of New England's largest technology in education conferences, CMTC includes nearly 100 sessions focusing on the use of technology in all aspects of education. In addition, approximately 40 Solution Partners from across the country will showcase their latest products and services and provide learning opportunities for attendees. The New Hampshire School Administrators Association (NHSAA) and the New Hampshire Affiliate of the International Society for Technology in Education (NHSTE), in collaboration with the New Hampshire Association for Supervision & Curriculum Development (NHASCD), New Hampshire Association of School Principals (NHASP), and the NHCTO Council, sponsor this four-day hybrid event. 2024 Winter Unconference -  February 11, 2025 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

Come ready to collaborate, share, and learn! Whether you're a systems leader, a building leader, a department leader, a teacher, or a student, this "unconference" is for you. From a list of timely and important themes, attendees will be asked to highlight and share with their colleagues in collaborative and engaging roundtable discussions. 2025 Best Practices in Personnel Leadership -  March 10, 2025 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

An important annual session for leaders in personnel management that includes presentations of best practices in developing, supervising, compensating, evaluating, hiring, and discharging of employees. Presentations will center on new developments in state law and regulations and the sharing of successful strategies, policies, and practices.

2025 Legislative Priorities (Part 2) -  March 24, 2025 (half-day) -  Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH 

A half-day program designed to inform members of critical new legislative issues being considered in the new session of the 2024 Legislature, discuss NHSAA positions, and plan strategies.

2025 Innovations in Learning Conference - April 9 - 10, 2025 - Grappone Conference Center, Concord, NH

The Innovations in Learning (formerly Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment) Conference focuses on fresh and innovative practices in the classroom while offering an in-depth update on the status of curriculum development, the needs of the 21st Century Learner, and successful implementation of sustained change initiatives. In addition to our Keynotes the program will include a variety of concurrent sessions by New Hampshire educators featuring College and Career Readiness Practices, ELOs, personalization of learning, presentations by students enrolled in CTE Programs and many others.
